Make it stand out

Your projects may need some extra flare, a video to showcase it, or perhaps an advertisement to capture attention. Have confidence in someone who knows the business and can help you maximize your image.

I’ve worked closely with photographers and videographers to understand the shots they take to better convey the story when it comes to editing the video for the event, political campaign, commercial, etc.

“High Quality Campaign Ad… on a budget”

As I am good friends with Justin Wilk, he often still seeks out my advice and skills for various campaign and political tasks. Often enough I can find a solution for him that still aligns with my values, to ensure the best product no matter the project. Justin called me one day with a vision, he saw a video online where a campaign ad was made using the new iPhone’s cinematic mode. He said to me “I need a high quality campaign ad” followed by every freelancers favorite words, “on a budget”.

I thought this could be a great challenge for me I took up the projects and produced two campaign videos, including this endorsement video with a well known political figure in the area, Jennifer Carroll Foy (JCF). I knew I had to bring my A-game and ensure that the one and only recording session we had should go off flawlessly. So as is tradition, a litany of issues followed. Location problems, weather concerns, equipment problems, everything seemed to want to work against me and the audio technician I worked with, but finally we finished our film session and made it work! Here is the final product for a successful social media political ad campaign that ended in his re-election, paid for by Justin Wilk for Prince William.

Student Interviews, A Campaign Ad

The Justin Wilk for Prince William campaign and I have a long history of working together. I was previously a Constituent Affairs Manager for Justin Wilk and naturally when he needs creative projects done he reaches out to me to see what I would suggest. I have consulted on his campaigns and policy positions, even after formally leaving my position in 2018.

Here we have an ad where I managed nearly the entire production with a small team. We were able to save on money by using an iPhone 14 in Cinematic Mode to film, reserving a free private room at a library, and prepping equipment to limit audio exposure for outside factors. Once the audio production was handled by the contractor I was working with, I was able to edit the video and produce the final edit which you see here. This video was part of a successful social media political ad campaign that ended in his re-election, paid for by Justin Wilk for Prince William.

Video Packs a Punch

An SMS outreach company, called RumbleUp, reached out to me and wanted to develop a small video to highlight the features of their Enhanced Video Texting service. This is a video without the voice over, to be added later, but it’s a great way to highlight my own video editing skills.

The project involved motion tracking, demographic research, & plenty of other useful video editing tricks. They seemed happy with what we came up with together.

I worked with their great marketing team who were able to relay their vision for the project effective. This made the process a breeze.

Politics, it’s never easy

When Justin Wilk came to me during the week leading up to election day, he had a BIG problem. A political ad he did that needed to be completely redone due to an audio sequencing issue that didn’t allow the audio to be play on any platform. I resolved the issue by re-editing the entire video and pulling the audio from the laptop it was produced on using a sound recorder. Unconventional, but it works.

I also happened to manage the social media page at the time and set up the paid ads + target audience for the ad. Justin won against a 15+ year incumbent, I’m not saying that saving the day and ensuring the ad reached the voters in his district was the reason he won… I’ll just wait for him to eventually say it!

The Beauty of Action

This is a project I am quite proud of, when I work with YouTuber Santaeid on this project he had a great idea but needed support in implementing it. Two clips from two separate individuals, one duel. We worked tirelessly to put together a duel that transitioned with every major blow to a very epic soundtrack.

A Story Never Forgotten

For the uninitiated, Dark Souls is a video-game that prides itself on being very hard and requires the player to understand the complex design without giving significant context. Many love it, including myself. This video is about one of the characters in the game that most players were quite fond of, there is a way to ensure he doesn’t die but for a lot of new players they had to kill their friend.

The technical side of this was interesting as I unfortunately had to pull clips from another YouTube creator, MichaelKobayshi, to get the right lines to feed into the narrative that was created by YouTuber, Santaeid. This made it so some clips are inherently SD while others were HD quality, which sped up parts of the rendering but could break the immersion of the viewer. To tackle this I spliced together two songs from the Dark Souls OST, “Gwyn, Lord of Cinder” & “Nameless Song” to help keep the audience from noticing the audio quality differences from the clips and stir some emotions.

The Narrative:

“As the warrior sees his companion he begins to remember the times they shared together. He tries with all his might to shoot the parasite off of his head. Sometimes he misses due to his remembrance of Solaire. As he runs out of arrows the warrior decides that Solaire is far gone and must be slain for his own sake.

This is a video for those who had to kill Solaire. I heard there was an alternative way to save him but it was all a lie. I tried to shoot Solaire's head to get the Sunlight Maggot off of him but it would not budge.
